Come off the A1 at junction 49 onto the A168 heading to Thirsk. Go over the River Swale. Come off at the next exit (sign posted Dalton), Turn Right off the slip road. Go underneath the flyover. Take next right (200 yds). Go through Dalton village, through a long S bend. Come to a T junction signposted Left - Thirsk, Right - Sessay. Head for Sessay. Go past the Moor & Pheasant pub. Go over a railway bridge.

The Oaks Lakes, Sessay were opened in 1994. We originally opened with 1 lake; Willows. In 1996 we added the Oaks and Firs Lakes , followed in 1998, by Alders Lake ; this was soon followed by Poplars Lake , Maple Lake and the newly opened Cedar Lake (opened in November 2003). There are 4 main match lakes at The Oaks; Cedar (matches only), Poplar, Maple and Alders. The other 3 lakes, Firs, Oaks and Willows are always open to allow pleasure fishing. Pleasure fishing can also take place on Poplars, Maple and Alders providing that no matches are taking place. There is a notice to the entrance to the fishery providing information about which lakes have matches booked/taking place.
The Oaks Lakes are open from:
6:30 am - 9:00 pm during the summer months
Dawn to dusk during the winter months

There is ample parking at The Oaks Lakes situated next to the café. With prior notification, coaches/buses can be accommodated.
Access to the majority of pegs is easily achieved, with parking available behind most pegs, in particular the Poplars, Alders and Cedar lakes. There are sturdy fishing platforms in place on all of the lakes.
There is a cafe on site serving a full breakfast, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and a small selection of snacks.
Maggots, pellets, luncheon meat, corn and various Whizzo groundbaits can be purchased, along with minor items of terminal tackle.
