The Ash, Beech and Sycamore Lakes

Ash, Beech and Sycamore

The Ash, Beech and Sycamore lakes are the new editions to the Oaks Lakes complex. Rather than more snake type lakes, the new lakes are of an open water design. 40 meters wide and fished from both sides. The features of the lakes are under water. A 60cm ledge for fishing down the edge followed by a slope to a 1.7m depth at 4m out followed by a flat area to 10m out where it shallows back up to 90cm.

The lake features

The lakes are filled with thousands of common and mirror carp plus F1's, Ide and Barbel. The carp are only of a small stamp but should average over 1lb by July 2010. However there are others to 3lb. 3 car parks have also been constructed for ease of access and to shorten walks with heavy tackle. Ash, Beech and Sycamore are for match use only. No pleasure fishing is allowed. Current matches are held on Sundays. £18 draw at 9:30am fishing 10:30am - 4:00pm.

These lakes will be used for the Fish 'O' Mania qualifiers.
